One year survival world
25/11/2024
It's a little over a year as I'm writing this. But a year ago I decided to start a brand new Minecraft survival world to play on when I got bored. I have to wait a lot when I go to school (waiting for the train to arrive, waiting on the train, waiting for my classes to start, having breaks and lunches...). But everytime I have to wait for something, or I have a break, I never have enough time to do something productive. So what a better way to spend that time playing some Minecraft. I wanted to keep it super low commitment, and only hop on when I wanted to. But I never wanted to delete the world or start a new one. That was the one rule I had, and I stuck with it. So now, for the first time in my life I can say I have a world that I played on for over a year. And I'm super proud of that!
I have taken it really slow, I'm only now using my first diamond pickaxe, have a nether portal and I haven't even gone to the end or started to transport villagers to my base. That's a deliberate choice I made. And I'm enjoying it a lot! There is nothing I have to do, and there is so much I still can do. If I don't feel like working on my base, I can always progress in the game and start looking for the stuff I need to brew potions. But I'm having so much fun just creating and expanding my base. I have built a house, the start of a town, a farm and with halloween I made a graveyard. I've been watching other peoples world tours and taking a lot of inpiration from that and from people that are playing on older versions.
To celebrate me reaching one year, I wanted to make a cake to display in-game. I had a spare room in my house so I transformed that into a 'party room' where I made a table and some decorations. And on the table I have a small sign and my cake. Whenever I'm feeling down I go to that room and just enjoy what I accomplished. To you, it may not seem like much. But to me it's an amazing achievement.
Because my laptop does not like me playing Minecraft and transforms into a plane to escape, I played on my phone. So if you see my controls on the scree, that's because I'm playing on my phone. I know a lot of people look down upon Bedrock players (not to mention phone players), but that doesn't bother me. So don't let it bother you.
Anyway, thanks for reading <3
